Chapter Six : The Circle.
« on: August 09, 2013, 03:31:48 am »
The group had been on the travel for three days and nights, as they tried to keep up with the Fox and her son, Riz. Talia was looking a bit more tired, but keeping up alright, at night trying to spend as much time as close to Eilik as possible, and at day spending time making sure Keiyra was out of the sun. Over head as they moved was Xon, carrying Derius carefully along, as they neared the mountain. It was going on night fall now, the group just gotten done with half a day's travel through the throat's grasp, the shallow dusty mountains that led up to the monster that set at it's center. The mountains were large but none as large as the Titan's throat, it pillared into the sky seemingly endlessly, no living man claims to ever have seen the peak.

The group was walking through the dirt sand colored mountain trail, climbing closer to the ramp of the broken, a slide of sandy rock road that led up into a womb of the mountain, where the shine lied under the protection of the mountain spikes. It was a rather drafty evening through these parts, the winds coming off the hills and cliff faces were harsh, but luckily the path was down within the mountain's protection, above is where the winds spiked, and Xon carried over head, his wings out as their bellows caught onto updrafts, he simply hung there, like a floating bird, he didn't flap once, until he wanted to go in a different direction, this mountain range was famous for the dragons and many birds coming here to enjoy the drafts.

As the group walked through the rather large walk way, large enough to fit two great bear spirits to walk through at a time, many of them seemed winded, or well, at least Talia did, as she trailed behind a bit, letting go of Keiyra for the evening since the sun was down below the rise. The road was so dusty, in a sandy brushed color, a trail walked many times in the past, but it was rittled with rocks and small boulders that had fallen in over time, none blocked the path, but Talia was glad she was wearing shoes for once.
Oh, i found brimstone in my garden.. And i found roses set on fire. And i found Jeus.. What a liar... And i treat licks with muddy water...

Eilik pokes his head out of Talia's shadow, letting out a yawn. "Sun goin' down yet." Kei would be grumbling to herself as she walked, occasionally shaking her feet, obviously having feet issues. "We almost there yet?" She whines out,  Eilik snorts, sinking back down before popping out under the girl, she lets out an eep as suddenly Eilik grabs her legs as she sits on his shoulders, "We'll get there when we get there, be patient brat or we'll set you up there on Xon."

Derius would be quite content still sitting upon Xon's back. He seems rather zoned out at the moment, an almost tired look upon his face, despite even having his eyes closed.  Maybe going on this trip with them was not a terribly good idea, but he was already here, he might as well to try and enjoy it. A soft sigh escapes him, his eyes remain closed though, just letting the wonderful breeze wash over him. From the wind his red hair would be swept back, several more strands of grey becoming apparent as it does so. The faint thoughts of things pop into his mind... it had been a long time since he had started this journey with Eilik and Talia. Never in his life would he have imagined ending up here, on the back of a dragon, going to some place of great importance, meeting his son, and just... everything. It then finally dawned upon him that such a small choice could have a lifetime of effects.
The wasted years, the wasted youth
The pretty lies, the ugly truth
And the day has come where I have died
Only to find I’ve come alive

Talia sighed, as they neared the steep, "Eilik.. Stop teasing the poor girl huh?" she murmured, now walking behind him, though her pace was slowing back down, "And Kei you should have grabbed your shoes silly." she offered a smile, sighing a bit once more as she looked up at the road a head, eying the fox as she of course led.

Xon peered down at the mountain range, before suddenly he tucked his wings in and dropped, not to fast, but fast enough to make Derius' head spin most likely. He would swiftly land in the road behind the group, curling up a bit so he could fit, and lower himself so that Derius could get off.

Kei blushes, lowering her head as she mutters, "Cuz I forgot them..." Yup, she remembers the large cloak and forgets her shoes, go figure.

Eilik snorts, "Hey, I get to tease my daughter as much as I tease the other kids, it's my priviledge."

The fox snorts happily, bouncing around on rocks on the edges of the path, making sure she kept within sight of the others but making sure she and her son were the first up the mountain. Never know how the other spirits will react when they find they have guests!

The moment Xon is on the ground Derius would move to slide off of his back, bare feet hitting the ground in silence. Though, Derius would lean against the dragon for a few moments, allowing his mind to stop spinning from the sudden drop. But with a shake of his head, he swiftly starts to move forward to follow after the group. His steps are a bit misplaced, making it look like he was about to topple over as if the weight of the world was suddenly upon his shoulders... But with some well timed grace, he twists a bit and starts to walk normally. His hair was still all blown back into a mess, and it appears he could careless, gaze looking about the scenery finally.

Riz would have awoken at some point, but likely only for a short while. He was a tired little thing, really. Often spent most of his days lazying about when not bouncing around and playing with the other foxes, or causing trouble. He was good at that! But, no, there was no reason to cause trouble right now, or really anyone to play with. Plus, there would be others he could play with once they got there, like... his dad! And... maybe the other spirits...? Maybe, just maybe. The small fox lets out a soft content sigh, even with his mothers bouncing about, still only half awake.

Talia simply smiled, as they started up the heavy incline, "Ah.... We're almost there, maybe we can sit for a while if the other spirits aren't already there.." she murmured, glancing back toward Derius, "Hello there, how was your flight?" she chuckled, before looking back forward.

Xon would shrink down after Derius started walking, his form taking that young one once more, his white hair a bit spiky, but that was somthing he reached up, and pulled back once more. Walking along behind Derius now.

The fox just kept bouncing up the rocky incline as they traveled forward, this wasn't hard for her, she had done this a few times and well, instead of just bolting up she was preoccupying herself with something less boring than just walking, expertly balancing her son on her back, because she's good like that.

Eilik would let out a yawn, he had been napping throughout the day, just waking up when the sun had began to set, Kei looked like she was about to pass out on top of her father, legs buckled under his armpits to make sure she did not fall.
Eilik of course, holding onto her legs, "So, care to let know when you met a Spirit Derius? Been meaning to ask how it happened." He smirked, throwing a glance at the man.
