A glance over his shoulder, that was a mistake he realized as his eyes returned to his front. There wasn't one of those creatures around that he hadn't lured to his position. Currently he was making it through a small shop, the back doors at least, if he remembered right, in the back were one way only, so he could just run out the back and hopefully lose a couple. He panted as he struggled to keep his pace, any slower and the runners would grab hold of his jacket, the immense smell wafting in his nostrils getting overbearing.

He would duck out the back door, hearing the door slam behind him as he kept running, though it pounded a good few times before they would pour out again. he lets out a sigh, at least it slowed them down a bit.  His legs were burning, threatening to give out on him as he rounded a corner. He stumbled, heart skipping a beat before he regained his footing, feeling a tug he would spin around, a loud TWANG as the aluminum bat connected with a runner, sending it stumbling before he would continue to tear out of there.

Few blocks further and he knew of a place to duck into, he should be able to get some extra time by slipping in between the freight and the hardware store, using it as a funnel, they liked to keep their extra stock close to the store. He would huff as he pressed his back to the building, squeezing into the small space. Thankfully he was small, so it didn't hinder him much. This did it, the creatures were struggling to even get intpo that tiny space, none of them smart enough to just go around. A few more feet...suddenly his foot snagged, he would grumble as he nearly tripped, peering down to a jawless one, attempting to gum his thick pants, he would growl, turning the bat over before jabbing it into the top of its skull, the soft material caving in before it went limp. He shook his head, no slowing down. He was free of the narrow space before bolting around the side of the building now heading back the way he had come. He was certain he bought himself a good minute or two as the smarter ones would start to move around the trailers.

It would be a good ten minutes before they saw him panting, not quite sprinting anymore, it was clear he had worked up a sweat even in the brisk end of winter air. He would half stumble, half run up to the bottom of the ladder, motioning with a hand to let it down.

The woman would keep a watchful eye on the alley ways, and streets, it was still so dark, and the off sounds of action within the city that echoed, caught her ears a few times, the sounds of barking dogs, or cawing birds in the night, and even some where, she heard a faint gun shot. Her teeth were grit, and her hands were tightened hard on the railing, waiting.. Until she let out a breath of relief, seeing him return, he looked worn out, and like he was about to drop.

It didn't take his hand gesture, before she lowered the latter in place quietly, offering him her hand down once more, in case he needed the help up, there was actually a relieved smile on her lips, though, it faded, as she looked up to the alley way behind him, making sure nothing was on his heels quite yet.

She keeps herself up against the wall, now much calmer, though she kept her head rested against her knees with a sigh of relief. It seemed they were safe, for now. Carefully she pushes herself up, peering out through the broken window downwards, checking if the other woman was still there. In fact, she was! And not only that, the guy was back too! That was good, she hopped he was alright, he looked quite tired, though, she thought.

Mumbling a bit to herself, she reaches into her pockets of her jacket, checking for anything she might have had left in it. To little avail, she finds nothing. Empty pockets of emptiness.

He would scramble up the ladder, a fairly large group of shamblers just stumbling up from where he had entered the alley. He would collapse onto the metal balcony, panting, "Raise...it..." He would manage to mutter as he just needed to catch his breath.

The minute he got up, and collapsed, she would pull the latter up, and lock it back in place, watching the group of maybe twenty five, or even thirty shamblers as they all growled, and stumbled about under them. She fell to her knees, and leaned over the man, checking him over, "Are you alright?" she muttered in concern, her tone low. "Do you need help to get inside?"

He clambered to his feet once his breathing slowed, he would push himself to his feet. "I'm okay..." Before dragging his feet up the stairs, and into the window he went. That is until he tripped over the girl who was sitting right next to the window still in the darkness sending him sprawling on his face. "...I'm tired...I'm just going to lay here..."

She just kind of sits there as someone trips over her, she lets out a muffled yip, jerking to the side, away from the window. "Sorry, sorry, sorry." She mumbles out softly, sounding close to tears. She really hadn't meant to trip him, she hadn't! They saved her life and how does she freaking repay them? HERE, ALLOW ME TO SIT UNDER THE WINDOW WE ENTER THE ROOM WITH SO YOU CAN TRIP OVER ME AFTER A LONG ASS RUN FOR YOUR LIFE... Gah, she was just on a roll for making good impressions of being in places where she shouldn't be! "I'm really sorry..."

The woman blinked, following him up to the window, and falling him fall on his face. After hearing the girl apologize, she let out a dark heavy chuckle, leaning in the window, "It's fine.. Im sure he'll be fine after some rest.. Im sure all of us will be better after some rest.." she muttered, she looked pretty worn out as well, she did mention she hadn't slept in two days, and she stumbled in through the window, almost tripping and falling ontop of the man, but she gripped the window, and held tight to keep herself up, she looked up, trying to get a glance around the dark room.

She soon looked down to the man on the floor, "You have any candles in here we can light?" she muttered softly in question, still holding onto the window.

He would eventually push himself to his feet, stumbling around before moving to a corner he would flick on a lamp, and it turned on surprisingly enough. There was a pile of car batteries in one corner of the room, the lamp seemed to be plugged in a jerry-rigged outlit that was connected to a large battery meant for automobiles. He would shake his head, "Stop apologizing..." He would mutter out before adjusting ropes on either side of the window, lowering what appeared to be a dining table down over the opening. He would loop the rope around the legs before fastening it onto a rod that had been hammered into the wall before walking to a corner, slipping off the back pack he would plop onto his ass.

Pulling out a mostly crushed carton he would shake out a pack before grabbing one of the sticks, sticking it between his lips, "Alright, happy?" There would be a bumping sound as his head hit the wall, not very hard he just was leaning back a bit. Why did he do this again? Did he secretly not want to be alone and didn't know it himself? The muscle in his chest wouldn't stop pounding, he wasn't going to fall asleep tonight, yet again. A hand goes digging in his pocket before bringing out a lighter, flicking it as the sparks caught the thin paper on fire, he inhales.

Lightly she tilts her head to the side, having fallen silent for a few moments. "Erm..." She mutters out softly,  slowly lifting a hand to lightly rub her eyes. "It is hard to sleep. But some sleep would be nice. Or a shower... Both." She mumbles out, resting her head upon her knees with a soft, breathy sigh as she gazes towards them, watching them quite intently.

The woman smiled, watching the light come on, "Wow.. Never thought i'd see power again..." she sighed, looking to him a moment, and then to the girl, "I agree with you.. but i don't believe the water will work though...." she grumbled, looking around the room, she walked over, reaching up to rub the bump on her head, she was stalking for a chair to sit in, or possibly a comfortable spot on the floor, "So.. Whats your names?" she looked back toward the two while she looked around the shadowed parts of the room.

He would shake his head, "Water doesn't work, like the electricity it was shut off." He would point over toward a pile of rags, "Best bet would be to use a single water bottle and a rag, try to clean as much as you can, there's no need to waste water." He would take a drag on the cigarette before closing his eyes a bit, "Fin, everyone called me Fin."

She frowned slightly at the mention of no water. But beggars cant be choosers, she supposed. Though s lowly she would peer over at the other two, the man who called himself Fin. She nods lightly towards him before looking towards her feet with a soft sigh. "Rorie." She mutters out, resting her chin upon her knees, just closing her eyes. Other people that were not trying to eat her face off or rip a limb off, though it was still bothersome when she closed her eyes for to long... the sounds of their screams and cries filled her ears all over again, causing her to twitch a bit before slowly opening her eyes again to just stare at them both all awkwardly.

She looked toward the one who claimed himself to be Fin, and nodded, she tried to keep that weak smile on her face, as if to reassure the two, but really the smile was probably for herself... She'd been through so much since this all started, and it seemed to mess with her a little bit. She then looked toward the other girl, and nodded once more. "Well.. Fin.. Rorie.. Im Alex.." she then looked to Fin, eying him up and down quite a bit, before sighing softly, "And Fin.. Thank you... You saved all of our lives so far.. hah.. Whatever good it will do in the end.." she looked down, before just plopping down on the floor, this place, she could rest.. Wonderful..

He would just kind of sit there for a while, not speaking, eyes closed. The cigarette's tip forms into ash as he just sits there. His breathing coming under control. He doesn't speak, he just lets his thoughts wander, he doesn't even say you're welcome.
